Resolution of Web graphics

Graphic resolution is the spacing of pixels or dots in the graphic. It's measured in dots (or pixels) per inch (dpi).

72 dpi is the lowest resolution that computer monitors display. Most newer monitors have a display resolution of 96dpi.

96dpi is all you really need for Web graphics right now. Higher resolution doesn't make them sharper, just slower to download.
