Method 1: turn off Share My Location

1. Go to Settings
2. Scroll down and select Privacy > Location Services > Share My Location
3. Toggle off Share My Location

To stop sharing your location on iMessage;

1. Open iMessage and go to the chat of the person with whom you are sharing your Location
2. Click on the person’s profile and select Stop Sharing My Location

NOTE: This method would leave a notification in the chat that you have stopped sharing your Location

To stop sharing your Location with someone on iMessage without them knowing;

3. Choose Share for One Hour or Share Until End of Day

How To Stop Sharing Locations on Android

To stop sharing location on Android;

1. Swipe down from the top of your screen to access the Quick Settings tray
2. Check through the options to find the location icon (an inverted drop of water)
3. You can swipe across (or swipe down for Android 11 or earlier) to see more options if you can’t find the location icon
4. Tap the location icon to turn your location off
5. You can also press and hold on the location icon to open your location settings or tap the settings icon and select Location
6. Then, toggle off Use location
